Livigno is a duty free Italian ski resort close to the Swiss border in the beautiful Valtellina alpine valley. Livigno is a high altitude ski resort located at 1820m thus ensuring good snow conditions. There is varied skiing on both sides of the valley and even the possibility of a days skiing in St. Moritz. Livigno is spread out across 3km of the valley floor and there is a free bus service around the ski resort. Due to its tax free status Livigno is a cheap ski resort in which to shop and enjoy après ski.

Livigno is a good ski resort for beginners to learn to ski, with a wide choice of runs at resort level. There are plenty of red ski runs and some easy blacks for intermediate skiers in Livigno.  In total there are 110kms of ski slopes in Livigno and the longest run is 4kms.There are a few black runs for advanced skiers and also the possibility to ski in St. Moritz. Livigno is a good resort for snowboarders, not only is it cheap but there is 70kms of piste and there is a very good terrain park with half pipe, bordercross, jumps and chutes. There is also 40kms of cross country skiing in Livigno.

There are in excess of 100 restaurants in Livigno covering every style of cuisine and just as many bars, so this is a lively and cheap ski resort. There are also 2 nightclubs in Livigno. There are also plenty of ski resort activities including ice skating, tobogganing, horse riding, snowmobiling, bowling etc. There are a wide variety of tax free shops in Livigno.
