Skiing in Arcs 1950
Arcs 1950 is a brand new village, developed by the US company Intrawest, and has been designed as a luxury resort for those wishing the ski the massive Paradiski area of Les Arcs and La Plagne. The development company behind such North American giant resorts as Whistler Blackcomb and Mammoth has created an attractive upscale village in a beautiful Alpine setting, built in the local Savoyard style, with direct access to the snow-sure slopes of Les Arcs.
 
Skiing in Arcs 1950 – The Mountains
Skiers in Arcs 1950 have the huge area of the Paradiski region, the combined areas of La Plagne and Les Arcs with 425km of pistes, 232 ski runs and 144 lifts, to explore, with direct lift access from this high-altitude village. The resorts are linked by the Vanoise Express, a high-speed gondola, with the 3,000m journey between resorts taking just 4 minutes. Les Arcs, with its peak elevation of 3,226m and fabulous views over Mont Blanc, has 118 slopes over 200km, all served by a series of 58 fast efficient lifts. With almost three-quarters of the terrain devoted to beginners and intermediates, Les Arcs is full of long cruising runs through the trees and wide open sunny pistes with guaranteed conditions. Experts have more limited terrain, but it is around Arc 1950 that the challenging runs can be found, especially at the top of the Aiguille Rouge at 3,225m, where it is possible to experience the longest black run in the world, spanning 7km, and there is plenty of opportunity for off-piste skiing. Snowboarders have a huge choice of terrain for both novice and experienced riders in Les Arcs, which call itself “the home of the snowboarder” due to its long history of boarding, and a park with a boardercross course and half-pipe.  So if snowboarding is your thing, head to Les Arcs and book a holiday here with directline-skiing.
