Located on the Flexen Pass between the provinces of Tyrol and Vorarlberg, the prestigious resort of Zurs is one of the five resorts that make up the Arlberg Ski area. Together with Lech, St Anton, St Christoph and Stuben, the region offers 270km of marked runs, with varied terrain and spectacular scenery.

At an altitude of 1,720m, the village of Zurs is one of the Arlberg’s' highest resorts, known for its excellent conditions and snow sure slopes. Much of the skiing takes place above 2,000m, with the highest lift reaching 2,450m. The slopes of Zurs are higher and tougher than in neighbouring Lech, and all sit entirely above the tree line, with the resort best suited to intermediate skiers, who make the most of the numerous long cruising runs. Snow sure slopes ensure that the region stays open when some others have to close, and although the resort enjoys a reliable snow record, 20% of the slopes of Lech and Zurs are covered by snowmaking facilities, with a total of 28 snow cannons.
Snow Conditions In Zurs - High altitude, above tree-line skiing, sunny conditions
The average snowfall in Zurs is 6m, and the resort enjoys a long winter ski season running from December to April. Zurs' altitude helps to guarantees excellent snow on its slopes, with the ski area generally covered by an average of 130cm of snow during the winter season. Previous seasons have seen great conditions, with March 2007 seeing an upper slope average of 223cm. As well as offering guaranteed snow, the region also sees plenty of sunshine, helping to give skiers a comfortable and pleasant Ski holiday experience.
