Try hearty traditional cheese dishes such as fondue, as well as game, stews and dumplings, washed down with the local fruit schnapps.

Apres-ski
Apres-ski mainly centres around the lively base at Mayrhofen, with plenty of loud ski bars as well as sports bars, hotel cocktail bars, clubs, discos, an ice bar and even a casino. Elsewhere in the valley visitors can relax in quiet local inns and pubs.

Tours
Take a tour of a working dairy farm and watch the local cheese being made, visit the Swarovski crystal factory in the area, or head out on a day's city break to Innsbruck, Salzburg or Munich. Visitors in April can enjoy the famous Snowbombing Music Festival which takes place every year in Mayrhofen.
