Winter Park Resort Facilities
Ski School
Winter Parks' ski school is amongst the best in the state, and offers a wealth of classes and lessons, including beginners learn-to-ski and ride, telemark clinics, speciality weekends and a number of women’s'-only programmes. The resort is also home to the National Sports Centre for the Disabled, which offers an extensive range of tuition.
Childcare And Families
The very popular Adventure Junction-Children’s' Centre offers childcare for children aged 2 months - 5 years, with skiing lessons for ages 3 and up. Winter Park is known for its huge range of children’s' ski lessons and diverse programmes, e.g. the Family Private lesson, available for up to 6 people.
Shopping
Most of the shops line the main road, or are located in an outdoor pedestrian shopping centre, and offer a range of goods including skiwear and equipment, sporting goods, clothing, jewellery, local handicrafts and souvenirs. There are also speciality food shops and a couple of art galleries.
Dining
Winter Park offers around 30 restaurants, with most generally featuring home-cooking and a casual atmosphere. Choose from local saloons, roadhouses and steakhouses to Mexican, Cajun, pizzerias and a sushi bar.
Après Ski
There are about 9 bars in the resort, mainly laid-back and with an authentic Western flair. A number of local pubs and saloons serve Colorado brews and lay on happy hours, and there's plenty of live music, pool tables and big screen TV's.
Town Services
As well as the shops, restaurants and lodgings, the small town of Winter Park has a grocer, 2 banks and a cash point, a police station and conference centre. Nearby Fraser has a supermarket, library and town hall.
Medical Facilities
There is a medical centre and ski patrol in the resort, and 2 chemists in Fraser.
