Westendorf Snow Conditions - Part of largest linked area in Austria, the Ski Welt Snow Conditions In Westendorf - Great for beginners and intermediates
The local ski area in Westendorf comprises 45km of terrain, and offers a choice of 21 runs served by 13 lifts. An ideal resort for beginners, the resort boasts wide nursery slopes right next to the village, conveniently close to the resorts' accommodation and restaurants. If snow is a problem at this level, there are also gentle slopes further up the mountain too, whilst intermediates can choose from a selection of blue and red runs, many running back through the trees. Advanced skiers have limited terrain here, but there is plenty of off-piste to explore, and the whole of the Ski Welt area to discover too. As Westendorf is the only resort not lift-linked to the Ski Welt, access to the area is by free shuttle bus, just 15-minutes away.
Westendorf Snow Conditions- Low-lying resort, good snowmaking on its slopes
Westendorf receives an average of 150cm of snowfall each year, and maintains snowmaking over more than half of its slopes, from a series of 84 snow cannons. The resort is open from December to March, with upper slope averages for the 2007-8 season being low at 74cm - however previous years have seen great conditions with highs of over 200cm.
