Good choice of museums and castles in and around the area, and plenty of excursions from Villars, including a mountain train ride to down to Chateau d'Aigle, a visit to Gruyere, Montreux or Lausanne, or a day trip to the country's best water park, Aquaparc, in Bouveret.

 

High standard of dining, mainly in the resort's hotels, and up on the mountain, serving plenty of regional specialities such as raclette and fondue, and featuring the local Swiss cheeses. There is a family-friendly atmosphere in the casual pizzerias and bistros, and gourmet cuisine on offer in a number of upmarket restaurants.   

 

Après-Ski
There is a small selection of local bars in Villars that offer a laid-back après-ski scene, and the resort hosts many concert performances, cultural events and folklore evenings.
