Val Gardena is situated in the heart of the stunning Dolomite mountain range, Selva is the largest ski resort in the valley. This area is known as South Tyrol and has a mix of Italian and Austrian influences. The Val Gardena ski area covers 175kms of piste and is part of the Dolomites Superski area opening up 1200kms of piste to ski. Selva is also linked to the Sella Ronda circuit, an approx 25km circular tour around the Sella massif. Selva is a perfect ski resort from which to sample one of the largest areas of skiing in Europe.

Beginners learn on nursery slopes both sides of the valley but the majority of the slopes surrounding Selva are reds and blues, making it perfect for intermediate skiers, also the Sella Ronda circuit adds to this vast area of varied skiing. There is a World Cup downhill course for advanced skiers and plenty of off piste skiing available in the Dolomites Superski area. There is a board park at Selva for snowboarders and the sheer size of this ski and snowboard area should offer something for everyone, there is even approx 95kms for cross country skiers.

Selva offers lively, relaxed après ski, with Italian and Austrian specialities to sample. There are restaurants in this ski resort to suit every budget and lively bars and clubs. For non skiers there are plenty of activities in |Selva including indoor tennis, ice skating, ice hockey matches, parapenting etc.
