As one of the highest resorts in the Alps, Tignes boasts one the most enviable snow records around, with skiing possible for 10 months out of the year, and the glacier helping to guarantee fantastic conditions throughout the ski season.

Tignes Snow Conditions - Reliable snow, a popular early or late season resort
Because of its altitude, skiing in Tignes is a popular early or late season favourite. The average winter temperature in Tignes is 0C, with the average annual snowfall being 6m. Tignes ski slopes are generally wide and well-kept, with plenty of powder in between, and almost all of them are above the tree-line. The slopes face in all directions, and many of the popular runs are served by snow cannons to help maintain optimum conditions. Snow Conditions in Tignes - March and April best time to visit, summer skiing possible
January sees good snowfall in Tignes with low temperatures helping to keep conditions dry and powdery, but with the chance of icy slopes. February is a very busy month and the high volume of traffic means the slopes can be a little choppy and bumpy. March and April are considered the best time to visit Tignes, when there is a large amount of snowfall and lots of spring sunshine. This creates very pleasant conditions, with the warmer temperatures ensuring that the slopes don't get too icy on the days when there is no snow. Summer skiing is possible on the glacier, with piste conditions first thing in the morning being fairly hard, and some very sunny south-facing slopes closing at lunchtime.
