Three Valleys in France covers a combined area of 600km. The region is an Alpine wonderland that incorporates a wealth of diverse terrain, and has excellent snow conditions to suit skiing at every level. Beginner skiers, intermediate skiers and advanced skiers can find rewarding skiing (and snowboarding, if that’s what you’re into) at fantastic Three Valleys ski resorts in the French Alps, such as Brides les Bains, Courchevel, La Tania, Les Menuires, Meribel, St Martin de Belleville and Val Thorens. In fact, Courchevel alone can boast 4 ski centres at different altitudes (Courchevel 1300, Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650 and Courchevel 1850). La Tania enjoys an excellent snow record, with its slopes seeing 5.3m of snowfall each winter. And at Meribel, the upper slopes regularly receive upwards of 2m of snow between January and March.

The average snowfall in the Three Valleys area is 1,440cm each year. In the peak month of March, upper slope averages can be as high as 237cm. In this region the winter ski season runs from early December to late April. The late spring months usually see the best conditions. The highest snowfall is in March and April and there is also hours-on-end of glorious sunshine to enjoy. Most Three Valleys resorts can boast excellent snowmaking systems, with numerous powerful snow cannons being used to cover the slopes at lower altitude in times of low snowfall.
