Skiing organisations
Joining a ski club is a great way to meet like-minded enthusiasts, with members of a ski organisation sharing a common interest and enjoying not only organised trips and holidays, but year-round social activities and events. Being part of a ski organisation is also a great way to save money, with members offered discounts and special offers on holidays, ski clothing and equipment hire. Another benefit to joining a ski organisation is the expert advice and information that members are given, from resort details and detailed snow reports from reps, to reviews of equipment and instruction advice.
Skiing organisations - Providing not only special offers and discounts, but expert advice
The Ski Club of Great Britain is perhaps the largest and best known ski organisation in this country, with 30,000 members. A club for everyone - whether young or old, skier or boarder, beginner or expert - the Ski Club of Great Britain provides members with a wealth of offers, as well as plenty of information and advice. For an annual payment, the ski organisation boasts discounts with a hundred tour operators, and countless resort shops, as well as offers on airport parking and car hire. There are reps from the ski organisation working in over 40 resorts, helping to direct you to the best skiing, bars, restaurants and activities on your holiday. The ski organisation also arranges package holidays focusing in different areas, such as action, instruction, off-piste and heli-skiing, as well as week-ends and family-friendly trips. On joining the ski organisation, members receive a pack, magazine issues, discount vouchers, and access to both SkiTV and their website.
Skiing organisations - Choose from group trips and social get-togethers all year round
There are other ski organisations around the country, some regional, which offer holidays and weekends away, as well as many social activities away from the slopes. Other more specialised ski organisations include the Eagle Ski Club, a mountaineering and touring club with 800 members, the Alpine Ski Club, also a mountaineering club dating back to 1908 and Kings Ski Club, which organises dry slope races. Disability Snowsport UK is a ski organisation that has been in operation for almost 30 years, catering for disabled skiers of all ages, and offering activity weeks and training, as well as experienced advice and support.
