Ski Welt Area Resort Facilities

Ski Welt Area resort facilities
Being the largest lift-linked ski resort in Austria, the facilities in the Ski Welt Area are comprehensive and accessible. With food and entertainment to suit a variety of budgets as well as a good choice of ski schools it is easy to see why skiing holidays in the Ski Welt Area are so popular.

Eating out in the Ski Welt Area
As you would expect from a ski resort linking 8 different villages, the Ski Welt Area offers a huge variety of restaurants and cafes both in the villages and on the mountainside. You can expect to find a mixture of Italian, British and American style food as well as plenty of traditional Austrian meals on offer in most of the individual resorts. Style and price range from fast food to gourmet luxury. The ski slopes themselves offer over 70 mountain huts and restaurants for a dining experience in truly spectacular scenery.

Après ski in the Ski Welt Area
As with eating out, après ski in the Ski Welt Area is nicely varied. Soll is known for its livelier nightlife with 10 bars and 2 nightclubs on offer as well as live music and karaoke for the brave! Westendorf also has 10 bars and 1 nightclub and hosts entertainment evenings that last through the night as well as calmer bars with a more relaxed atmosphere. Some of the smaller villages such as Ellmau and Brixen still provide a good range with the emphasis more on absorbing the local scene and family entertainment.

Family ski holiday
The Ski Welt Area is a great destination for a family ski holiday with good value food and accommodation. Discounted ski passes are available up to 17 years and under 6’s ski for free. There are plenty of options to keep children occupied throughout the region with several ski schools that run courses for children as young as 3. Westendorf is a particular favourite with families hosting a variety of ski clubs for kids and a non-skiing kindergarten for children aged 18 months to 4 years. There are also 3 fun parks in the Ski Welt Area located in Ellmau, Westendorf and Soll.

Ski schools in the Ski Welt Area
There are 18 ski schools across the Ski Welt Area with between 1-3 options in each village. Soll offers 2 ski schools with a large number of gentle beginner and nursery slopes close to the village as well as an excellent range of intermediate runs. Westendorf has 3 ski schools with options ranging from the miniclub for 3-4 year olds to the Ski and Carving Academy. The smaller villages all have at least one ski school offering a choice of lesson and courses and tuition is generally highly rated.

Ski hire and sports shops
There are over 30 ski hire and sports shops throughout the Ski Welt Area with at least 1-2 options in each independent resort. For the widest range of sports equipment and ski hire head to Soll or Westendorf.
