This charming ski resort in British Columbia is a favourite with families, thanks to its pedestrian-friendly streets, convenient accommodation and atmospheric town centre, which oozes character. Silver Star is home to the National Altitude Training Centre, which offers weight-training equipment, a day spa and indoor rock-climbing. The village itself is in the middle of the mountain and has been built to resemble a Victorian mining town, with coloured wooden shop fronts and a pedestrian main street. The nearest town is Vernon, which lies about 25km away, and skiers can also head to the sister resort of Big White, which is on the same lift pass.

Silver Star offers a range of options for lunch and dinner, from casual bakeries and cafes to family-style lodges and upscale restaurants. Choose from local fare at the pubs and saloons, or international food such as Italian or Swiss.
Après-ski
The après-ski scene is relaxed and friendly, with the bars and pubs conveniently located around the mid-mountain village. There is always plenty of family-oriented entertainment, such as firework shows, carnivals and bingo featured on the Weekly Events Calendar.
