Ski School
The resort is home to 7 ski schools located in the various villages throughout the valley, including Ecole de Ski Buissonniere, Ecole De Ski Evasion and the British-run Eurekaski. All are well-regarded schools and offer professional tuition ranging from beginners' lessons to specialist techniques, such as racing and carving.
Child Care
Serre Chevalier ski holidays make for an extremely child-friendly ski resort, and offers crèche facilities for babies as young as 6 months, with one of the most popular being Les Schtroumpfs (The Smurfs) in Villeneuve. English is widely spoken as well as French, and parents have a good amount of choice throughout the villages. Lessons are available for children aged 3 and up.
Shopping
The 13 villages that make up Serre Chevalier are home to hundreds of shops and services, with plenty of skiwear, sports goods and souvenirs on offer. There are many charming French shops to browse in, including regional food stores such as local butchers and bakers, and the town markets take place on Thursdays and Fridays. A choice of 8 supermarkets sell essentials, and supplies for self-catering.
Restaurants
There are 12 restaurants on the mountain in Serre Chevalier and about 100 in the towns and villages, with plenty of traditional French alpine food including fondues and crepes, as well as varied international cuisine. Choices range from snack bars and cafes, to pricey Michelin-starred restaurants.
Après-ski
The resort has a choice of 38 bars and pubs, including cosy local bars, lively music bars, family-friendly lounges and karaoke spots. Generally the resort is fairly quiet, but there are 3 clubs for late-night dancing.

Essentials include 4 banks, 4 post offices and 3 tourist offices, as well as petrol stations, launderettes, a number of churches and 3 libraries.
