Ski School
There are two ski schools, Selva Gardena Ski and Snowboard School, and Ski and Snowboard School 2000, both with 20 instructors. Lessons offered range from basic learn-to-ski packages, to private instruction and tuition in techniques such as freestyle riding, and ski guides and day tours.
Children
Selva has a Mini Club for babies and children up to 4, and Ortisei takes children from 2 years old. There is also private babysitting throughout the Val Gardena region. Ski lessons are offered for children aged 4 and up.
Shopping
There are 80 shops in town, selling a range of skiwear and ski equipment, clothing, and speciality foodstuff. Selva is at the centre of the woodcarving industry, and many craft shops and workshops sell wooden goods and souvenirs.
Dining
Selva has a choice of almost 70 restaurants and pizzerias, ranging from rustic mountain huts and casual cafes, to gourmet eateries. Cuisine includes traditional Italian and regional Tyrolean and Ladin specialities.
Après-Ski
The apres-ski scene in Selva is the liveliest in Val Gardena, with about 10 bars, most offering a party atmosphere with a strong German influence. There is plenty of live music and happy hours, and 2 discos.
Town Services
Include 3 banks, 6 supermarkets, a library, internet cafe, a post office, tourist office, hairdressers and dry cleaners. A shuttle bus links all the villages.

There is a medical centre, chemist and doctors in Selva, and 2 hospitals in the area.
