Snow Conditions in Seefeld - Good snow record, former Winter Olympic venue
Seefeld lies in the Tyrol region of Austria, just 25km northwest of Innsbruck, on a sunny plateau in the Karwendel Nature Reserve. A purpose-built resort, Seefeld has played host to the Winter Olympic Games twice, and enjoys a good snow record during the winter, seeing an annual snowfall of 3m.
 
Snow Conditions in Seefeld - Skiing up to 2,100m, north-facing slopes
The resort lies at an altitude of 1,200m, with skiing available up to a top elevation of 2,100m, and the 27km of skiable terrain having 36 runs served by 30 lifts. The slopes at Seefeld are mainly north-facing, and there are plenty of wide tree-lined pistes to enjoy, mainly suiting beginners and intermediates. Skiing in Seefeld is located in two regions - Gschwandtkopf, which is small with gentle slopes and good for beginners, and Rosshutte, accessed via a funicular, offering more challenges for intermediated and advanced skiers, with mogul fields and some great off-piste. Experts looking for steeper, higher terrain can head to the slopes of the Stubai or Zugspitz glaciers, with terrain up to 3,000m.  Seefeld is known as one of the best bases for a cross-country ski holiday, with an expansive 283km of trails to explore.
 
Seefeld Snow Conditions - Extensive snowmaking over 90% of ski area
The ski season in Seefeld runs from December to April, with February - March generally seeing the best snow of the year. Upper slope averages for the last couple of years have been varied, with February 2010 seeing averages of 85cm, and February 2009 reaching 187cm. Snowmaking is extensive throughout Seefeld's slopes, with 90% coverage provided by 150 snow cannons.
