Risoul Things To Do

On the Slopes
Risoul has plenty of fun and thrills on the pistes for both non skiers and those who simply want to try something new. The area is home to 35km of snowshoe walking trails and ice climbing is a fun and rewarding pastime here. Why not enjoy the thrill of downhill tobogganing or astride a snow scooter, both available in resort. 

Indoor Recreation
More sedate things to do in Risoul include a visit to the open air ice rink offering great fun for all the family, or spend an evening watching a Hollywood blockbuster at the local cinema. Kids will love a day of freedom in a well appointed children’s activity centre and games hall while mums will not want to miss a relaxing sauna or spa treatment available in many resort hotels.

Dining
For a relatively small ski village, Risoul provides a good selection of dining options that should satisfy the diverse palates of its many visitors. Traditional fondue and raclette evenings are always a great social occasion, indulge in fine French cuisine or simply enjoy a traditional Alpine snack or pizza. Several mountain restaurants are dotted around the mountainside and provide ideal sustenance during a day of winter sports action.

Shopping
There are almost 100 shops in Risoul predominantly servicing self catering visitors with a great range of food products and a host of ski fashion boutiques. There are also many quaint gift and craft shops and jewellery outlets that offer all manner of souvenirs for that special memento of a Risoul skiing holiday.

Briancon
Less than an hour away by public bus, the historic town of Briancon provides a great day out away from the slopes with much to see and do for all ages. An imposing medieval fortress is its focal point and definitely worth a visit, offering an atmospheric panorama of rustic rooftops, church spires and dramatic mountain scenery. Stylish shopping and dining establishments abound in streets full of charming renaissance architecture along with modern entertainment and sports facilities such as ice hockey, amusements and bowling.

Après Ski
Informal yet lively, nights out in Risoul are fun and sociable with late night action revolving around a small number of bars and hotel clubs. Revellers can enjoy live acoustic music, dancing and karaoke or simply savour the cultured atmosphere of one of several elegant a la carte restaurants.
