Risoul Snow Conditions - A long season of excellent snow cover
Ski holidays in Risoul will take you high up on the slopes of the Southern French Alps, ensuring a formidable record of snow cover and a long season that can last until the end of April. With a resort altitude of 1,850m rising to 2,750m, snow conditions in Risoul are excellent, with the added benefit of numerous snow cannons replenishing snow levels in late season. Even on lower slopes up to 120cm of snow cover should be enjoyed in February and March and recent years have seen as much as 270cm at higher altitude. The resort enjoys a fabulous sunshine record with over 300 days of bright sun each year.
Snow Conditions in Risoul - Ideal for beginners and intermediates
The snow is in general soft and powdery even at lower levels for much of the season and provides ideal skiing for beginners and children with wide and well manicured green runs. More confident skiers have access to a wide network of blue and red runs that incorporate woodland chicanes, gullies and steep descents through glorious terrain and these ideal snow conditions in Risoul extend far throughout the Domaine de la Foret Blanche ski area. A dramatic natural half pipe at Col de Valbelle should provide exhilarating riding for experienced snowboarders while a centrally located snowboard park will attract boarders of all levels with its super pipe and lots of jumps and rails.
