Risoul Piste Information
Piste Information
The resort of Risoul is part of the vast Foret Blanche ski area which covers over 180 km of ski runs and is part of the largest ski area in the Southern French Alps. It enjoys a long ski season with generous snow cover from early December right through until late April and there are plentiful opportunities for off piste skiing, with many steep unmarked trails. Risoul boasts over 40 km of cross country skiing, much of it through picturesque wooded mountain scenery and while known predominently as the perfect resort for intermediates, there are many pistes ideal for beginners, including a large area dedicated to novice snowboarders. Advanced skiers enjoy fewer options, yet there are several challenging trails offering stunning mountain terrain and unforgettable views, with many more exciting possibilities in the adjacent resort of Vars.
