Snow Conditions In Pas De La Casa - Part of Grandvalira ski area 

Pas de la Casa is located right on the border with France at the northern end of Andorra, and sits in a wide valley. The resort makes up part of the vast Grandvalira ski area, and offers a huge amount of high-altitude skiing above the tree-line. The highest resort in the Pyrenees, ski holidays in Pas de la Casa are the most snow sure in Andorra and also the sunniest, creating excellent conditions for both skiing and snowboarding holidays.

 

Pas De La Casa Snow Conditions - Most snow sure ski resort in Andorra 

The highest resort in Andorra, Pas de la Casa sits at an altitude of 2,050m and offers skiing up to 2,640m. It is also the sunniest, with an almost Mediterranean-like climate and high temperatures during the day, thanks to its southern latitude. With north-easterly and north-westerly facing slopes, Pas de la Casa enjoys an extremely reliable snow record, with the high altitude helping to preserve its snow base, despite the sunshine. The pistes tend to be hard packed in the morning and do soften up throughout the day. Guaranteed snow throughout the season makes it a great resort for beginners and intermediates, and its sunny weather makes for pleasant conditions whilst learning to ski. Two-thirds of Pas de la Casas' slopes are on wide blues and reds above the tree line, great for intermediates and improving beginners, whilst the deep powder around the upper slopes is good for off-piste skiing and heli-skiing.           

 

Snow Conditions In Pas De La Casa - Long ski season, extensive snowmaking 

Pas de la Casa sees an average of 2.5m of snowfall each year and enjoys a long ski season from December to late April, sometimes running into May. The best snow is seen in March and April, with upper slope averages reaching 120cm in 2007. Pas de la Casa has 467 snow cannons that it uses at the beginning and end of the season, covering over 30% of its slopes.
