The choices of resorts for a November ski holiday depend on recent snowfall and general conditions. Proximity to a glacier often means great early snowfall for some of the European ski resorts, with major centres such as Tignes, Val Thorens, Chamonix, Zermatt and Saas Fee available for a November ski holiday. Many of the North American ski resorts open their doors this month, with the Thanksgiving holiday (which always falls on the fourth Thursday) being the first big weekend of the season and many people take advantage of an early November ski holiday. As Thanksgiving is the busiest and most expensive time to travel in the US, British visitors should plan their trips accordingly, with the earlier weeks of the month generally offering a cheaper option for a November ski holiday, with less crowds and more availability.
