Night Skiing

Night Skiing – A skiing holiday treat beneath the moon and stars
Night skiing is becoming increasingly popular at ski resorts worldwide. The reasons for this are numerous. Night skiing is cheaper than daytime skiing due to the reduced lift pass prices for skiing after sundown. Also, you’ll find th-e slopes are less crowded at night as many holidaymakers at your resort choose to head for the bars and clubs after dinner, or course. At night the slopes are lamp lit. This creates a magical atmosphere as you enjoy skiing to your heart’s content in a spectacular night-time winter wonderland that is like something from a fairytale or a Hollywood movie.

Skiing tuition at night can be more personalised. Expert (and mostly English-speaking) ski and snowboard instructors at resorts in Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy, the Balkans, Canada, USA and Japan are able to devote more individual attention to skiers at night. As we’ve seen, this is because there are generally fewer students to teach during lessons held beneath the moon and stars. (Note: Ski Patrollers are also on duty at ski resorts at night).

Night Skiing – From beginners to advanced
Night skiing is a great winter sport skiers of all abilities can enjoy. Drinking alcohol is unadvisable, of course, when skiing at night, but you can still add even more fun to your night skiing sessions by booking a skiing holiday through directline-skiing at a resort that puts on night skiing entertainment, such as live bands or quadraphonic piped music for you to enjoy as you whizz down the slopes after midnight and well into the small hours. Key things to remember when night skiing are to: always ski with a family member or friend; wear an extra layer (wrap up warm to cope with the inevitable lower night-time temperatures); and to follow the Skier Responsibility Code.
