Niederau Snow Conditions

Snow conditions in Niederau - Picturesque Tyrolean village in Wilderschonau Valley
Niederau is located in the Wilderschonau Valley, in the Tyrol region of Austria, between the Kitzbuhel Alps and the Wilder Keiser Mountains. Although the village sits at a fairly low elevation, the slopes are north-facing and covered by snowmaking facilities, ensuring good conditions for visitors. There's excellent doorstep skiing for beginners, making it a great place to learn and for families looking to ski together.

Niederau Snow conditions - Doorstep skiing, up to 1,900m, great for beginners
The village of Niederau sits at an altitude of 828m, with access to a top elevation of 1,903m. The ski areas of Lanerkopfl and Markbachjoch have been established since the late 1940's, and offer north and northeast-facing runs, with mainly gentle terrain. Novices and beginners have use of the nursery area at the centre of the village, and the gentle slopes at the base of the valley are served by 6 lifts. The gondola takes competent skiers up to higher more challenging terrain and a number of narrow tree-lined runs, and intermediates will enjoy the long cruising runs back down to the village. There is fairly limited terrain in Niederau for the more advanced, however skiers are able to travel to the other villages in the valley by free ski bus, and enjoy harder runs and steeper verticals, as well as great off-piste opportunities above the tree-line at Auffach.
