Ski school
Two ski schools offer tuition in basic skiing and snowboarding, as well as specialist techniques such as carving, racing and Nordic skiing. Ski touring and guiding in the Wildschonau is also offered.
Children
There's a ski kindergarten in Niederau, Bobo's, with creche facilities for children aged 2-5. Ski lessons are available for children aged 3 and above, (with snowboarding for the over-8's), and the learning area features a magic carpet, carousel, slides and games.
Shopping
Niederau has a cosy rustic charm with a limited number of small village shops, including 2 supermarkets or mini-markets.
Dining
There are 15 mountain restaurants in the valley, and 8 in the Niederau area itself, serving mainly Austrian fare, hearty Tyrolean dishes and Italian food in the local restaurants and pizzerias.
Nightlife
Niederau has a fairly laid-back apres-ski scene, but some good choice for drinks and nights out with 12 bars and pubs, and 2 nightclubs.
Town services
The town is small and compact, with a bank, a post office, hairdressers and a petrol station, with good access to the other villages in the valley via free bus.
Medical facilities
Niederau has both a chemist and a doctor in town.
