Monterosa Snow Conditions
Snow Conditions in Monterosa - Quiet undiscovered slopes in Aosta Valley
Situated in the Aosta Valley on the Italian-Swiss border, the Monterosa ski area lies along the southern edge of the Monta Rosa Massif, the second highest peak in Europe. The ski resorts that make up the region include Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna, which are located in the Ayas, Gressoney and Valsesia Valleys. A quiet and uncommercial ski area, the conditions remain reliable with the area having a good snow record, thanks to the high altitude and location close to the soaring peaks of the Monta Rosa massif.

Skiing is offered up to a top elevation of 3,260m, and the 180km of terrain gives visitors a good choice of runs, with conditions best for confident intermediates and adventurous experts in Monterosa. The slopes generally seem quiet and see limited queues, and the skiing is well-connected with a selection of varied slopes throughout the three valleys. Champoluc is home to the easiest terrain, and home to plenty of sheltered tree-lined runs, whilst Gressoney, in the centre of the ski area, has excellent access to all the valleys, as well as the best slopes for intermediate skiers.
