Ski School
There are ski schools at Champoluc and Gressoney, offering basic group or private lessons, and the area is often used for off-piste tuition, with extensive guiding available out into the more challenging terrain.
Childcare
Champoluc is well-equipped for families with a Mini Club taking care of children aged up to 12, and a special children's ski area, as well as a playground. The tourist board arranges entertainment on the slopes for families and children, including puppet shows and games.
Shopping
The largest village of Champoluc has a selection of ski shops and supermarkets, with Gressoney also home to a couple of handicraft and souvenir stores, and a local bakery and grocers. Head to villages such as Bresson for more traditional shops, or visit the nearby weekly market in Aosta.
Dining
The ski area has 45 restaurants, including 9 up on the mountain, with most located in either Gressoney or Champoluc, and including a number of pizzerias and traditional Alpine lodges serving hearty mountain fare as well as Italian specialities. The small village of Alagna has 6 restaurants to choose from.
Apres-Ski
Apres-ski includes 25 bars and pubs, most in Gressoney, the main centre for entertainment in Monterosa, with Champoluc home to a nightclub, and a casino in Saint Vincent.
Town Services
As well as shops and hotels, the villages have banks (with a cashpoint), post offices, a tourist office, hairdressers and petrol stations.
Medical Facilities
There is a medical centre, and a chemist in the Monterosa ski area.
