Head to the well-equipped Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx for the liveliest base, or choose the smaller and more relaxed Claviere and Montgenevre for a slower pace.

There's plenty of shopping in Sestriere, and the local Piedmont area is full of historical sights tour, with traditional Alpine villages to visit. 
 
Dining and Apres-Ski
An excellent choice to suit all tastes and budgets, with quick and easy take-aways, casual pizzerias and cosy trattorias, as well as more upmarket gourmet options, and plenty of restaurants and ski huts up on the mountains. Cuisine is definitely hearty Italian, featuring regional Alpine specials as well as traditional French fare, with the youthful Sauze d'Oulx offering English breakfasts and more international dishes. Apres-ski is the most lively in the larger resorts, where there's a vibrant scene and plenty of all-night partying.
