Milky Way Resort Facilities

Ski Schools
An excellent choice of ski and board schools, with at least 10 in the Milky Way area, offering everything from basic learn-to-ski lessons, as well as specialist skills and disciplines.
 
Childcare
Each resort offers childcare, with the youngest babies, aged 6 months and up, accepted in a hotel-based nursery in Claviere, and a good choice of facilities for older children up to 6 years of age. Lessons are generally available for ages 4 - 5 and up, with children's tuition in Sestriere particularly highly rated.
 
Shopping
The main shopping centre in the Milky Way is Sestriere, boasting 130 shops selling everything from skiwear and sports equipment to jewellery and designer clothing, however each village has a choice of local shops, including convenient supermarkets, and both Sauze d'Oulx and Montgenevre hold traditional weekly markets.
 
Dining
Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx are the main centers for dining, each with over 30 restaurants, and the smaller Claviere and Montgenevre home to 10 and 20 respectively. Plenty of cosy trattorias and casual pizzerias in Italy, with Montgenevre offering traditional French cuisine, with a distinct influence from the Italian side of the border too.
 
Apres-Ski
Again, the larger resorts offer a lively scene when the lifts close, with 20 - 30 bars to visit and the smaller centres home to a handful of local places. Entertainment features both a youthful and cosmopolitan scene, lots of lively happy hours, karaoke bars and a choice of nightclubs.
 
Town Services
Plenty for visitors, with each resort offering convenient tourist services such as banks, post offices and tourist offices, as well as launderettes, hairdressers and internet cafes.
 
Medical Facilities
Each resort in the Milky Way has a doctor and a chemist, and there is a hospital located in Sauze d'Oulx.
