Meribel Snow Conditions - Great skiing for the adventurous and the beginner
Part of the vast Three Valleys ski area, Meribel is one of the most popular resorts for British skiers attracted by its reliable record of snow at all altitudes and a fine winter climate that produces a great deal of crisp sunshine. The resort is based at 1,400m with the highest lift reaching an incredible 2,950m ensuring a long unbroken season of winter sports for visitors. Covering a combined area of 600km and incorporating a wealth of diverse terrain, Meribel snow conditions offer rewarding skiing at every level.
Snow Conditions in Meribel - An excellent record of snowfall
The Three Valleys enjoys a very healthy diet of regular snowfall and sunshine with upper slopes perpetually receiving upwards of 200cm between January and March. Abundant snow cannons supplement in times of low snowfall, usually in early April at lower altitude and recent years have seen an average of 75cm in late March and April at lower levels. Due to its incredible popularity all season long, many of the busier green and blue runs are regularly groomed to improve Meribel snow conditions which can become icy due to overuse, yet in general Meribel enjoys a high proportion of soft, powdery snow throughout.
Meribel Snow Conditions - Well maintained pistes
Meribel nursery slopes are extremely well manicured, wide and enjoy a sunny aspect, while north and east facing intermediate slopes maintain a good level of soft snow cover and benefit from striking panoramic views. Meribel snow conditions at high altitude ensure demanding and challenging off piste altitude skiing which is equally rewarding for adventurous boarders but care should be taken on the many unmarked trails, especially when snow depths starts to dwindle in late season.
