There are 7 ski schools in Megeve all of which offer group and individual tuition to both adults and children of all levels of experience. Most provide English speaking instructors and small class sizes. There is also the option of hiring an independent English speaking instructor who will normally offer both private and group ski and snowboard tuition. Ask your rep who they would recommend locally and they may even be able to arrange a discount.

 

Megeve comfortably caters for children of all ages with an impressive range of activities available in addition to skiing. The ski schools provide group and individual lessons for children in a safe environment and savings can also be made with family ski passes. Childcare facilities are excellent with a selection of day-care centres (1-3yr olds) and activity filled day-camps (3-12yr olds) through the resort. The tourist information centre also holds information of English speaking babysitters.

 

Walking is by far the most efficient and convenient method of transport in Megeve. There are 3 covered car parks available for those who do drive but you are unlikely to need a car once you have arrived. Local buses travel through the town and there is also the extravagant option of taking a sleigh ride home in a horse drawn caleche (carriage).

Given the sufficient number of food stores and mini-markets scattered across Megeve self catering accommodation can present a viable option. There are also 2 fresh produce markets, 1 weekly (Fridays) and 1 on the first and third Sundays of each month.
