The ski resort of Megeve is located in the Haute-Savoie region of the French Alps, and sits at an altitude of 1,100m. Skiing in Megeve takes place over 445km of piste, served by 113 lifts, which are spread over 3 separate mountains - Le Jaillet, Rochebrune and Mont d'Arbois, with the latter both lift-linked and served by gondola. The highest lift reaches 2,350m, however, most of the skiing in Megeve takes place under 2,000m. The slopes are best suited to beginners and intermediates, with 40% and 47% of the terrain respectively, meaning skiing in Megeve is a good choice for mid-level skiers looking to improve their technique, and for those just starting out. The most varied skiing in Megeve is found in Mont d'Abois, and for more competent skiers, the slopes of Mont Joly and Mont Joux are home to steeper terrain. Advanced skiers in Megeve have fairly limited terrain- just 13% - but a wealth of long cruising runs on which to test themselves and the expert resorts of Chamonix and Argentiere situated close by.
