Ski school
Home to 4 ski schools, Mayrhofen has a reputation for excellent tuition, and the resort employs 150 mainly English-speaking instructors. Lessons offered range from basic learn-to-ski pacakges and learn to board packages, to specialised skills and courses, such as off-piste guiding and avalanche training.
 
Childcare
All ski schools offer a high level of instruction for children, with classes available for ages 3 and up. Day care is provided by 4 crèches, taking babies from as young as 3 months. Mayrhofen also has a special play area for children, babysitting can be arranged through the Tourist Office, and equipment such as pushchairs are available for rental.
 
Dining
Known for good value dining, Mayrhofen has over 30 places to eat, including coffee shops and cafes, cosy Tyrolean taverns and slope side stube, and a range of international restaurants in town. 
 
Après-ski
A favourite with the party crowd, Mayrhofen has a wild après-ski scene, with over 20 watering holes, including British-style pubs, lively ski bars, sports lounges and hotel venues, and 2 late-night clubs.
 
Shopping
This traditional but lively town is home to over 100 shops, ranging from the usual ski shops and craft and souvenir shops, to newsagents, photo shops, boutiques, book stores, jewellers and florists, as well as 5 supermarkets and a number of bakeries and butchers. 
 
Town services
The town centre is picturesque and bustling, with a pedestrianised main street, and in addition to the shops, bars and restaurants, offers 9 banks (with 4 cash points), internet cafes, library, hairdressers, launderette, a Tourist Office and a post office.
 
Medical facilities
Mayrhofen has a doctor’s surgery and chemist in town, and an emergency mountain rescue service.
