Active pursuits
There’s no shortage of opportunity for adrenaline-charged fun during a ski holiday in Madesimo. Adventurous in Madesimo shouldn’t miss a chance to take the exhilarating 69km skidoo trail that leads right up to the Swiss border, taking in spectacular panoramic views along the way. Gentler active pursuits in Madesimo include ice skating, swimming, cross country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing and sleigh rides. There is also a good sports centre in the village, and many of the larger hotels have fitness centres.

Relaxation

The compact centre is easily navigated on foot, and the streets are lined with some smart fashion boutiques as well as the usual sports stores and food shops. A couple of well-stocked supermarkets are handy for self-caterers skiing in Madesimo.

Dining
Good-value mountainside restaurants are a firm favourite among hungry skiers in Madesimo, and the sunny verandas of the slope-side taverns can make it difficult for skiers to return to the slopes after lunch! More sophisticated dining can be found in the restaurants of Madesimo’s many high end hotels, and fondue evenings are frequently held in bars and restaurants across the resort. Families on a ski holiday in Madesimo might want to visit one of the several pizzerias or creperies in the town.

Apres-ski
Apres-ski in Madesimo is quieter than in the larger ski resorts, but is a relaxed, friendly and fairly lively affair.  The apres-ski scene in Madesimo is largely concentrated around the bars and restaurants of the town’s hotels, although the slopeside cafes are a pleasant spot for a warming post-ski drink, and there is a popular disco that keeps revellers dancing until the early hours.
