Madesimo Snow Conditions – High altitude skiing
Lying at 1150 metres, and with the highest lift reaching 2880 metres, Madesimo offers thrilling high altitude skiing, panoramic views and a sound snow record, with the season running from November until May. The scenery is as spectacular as the skiing – with fir and larch forests in the valley and majestic Alpine slopes towering above the resort. Wonderfully uncrowded mid-week, the slopes are easily accessed from the resort centre thanks to a modern and efficient lift system. The higher runs can be found at Groppera, whose wide sunny slopes are above the treeline, while at lower piste skiers in Madesimo will find that ski is below the tree line. Six access points make reaching the slopes easy, but the Cima Sole and Groppera cable cars offer the fastest ascent of1350 vertical metres.

Snow Conditions in Madesimo – Excellent intermediate terrain
Intermediates on a ski holiday in Madesimo will be in their element, with 48 per cent of the 55km of slopes perfect for the intermediate skier. There are plenty or long runs, including the Vanoni and Interpista intermediate red run, which are both three kilometres long. Beginners are also well looked after. The ski school has an excellent reputation, and there are nursery slopes at one end of the village, with longer blue runs cutting down through the trees. Advanced skiers will want to try the famous Canalone black descent, and adventurous types can hike further up from the top of the lifts to the 3000m peak of Pizzo Gropera, carving trails back down through the powdery slopes.

Madesimo Snow Conditions – Modern and effective lift system

The eastern side gives gondola access to a wide range of slopes for intermediate and advances skiers at the Monte della Neve. A regular shuttle bus service links the two sides.
