The Lillehammer Olympic Park is the place for tobogganing and bobsleigh rides, whilst the Hunderfossen Winter Park offers an exciting High Ropes Course. The sports centre also features a putting green, driving range and golf simulators. There are numerous museums to visit, including the open-air Sandvig Collection at Maihaugen, giving visitors a look at the history and culture of the area through various buildings, farms and churches. Others feature a range of exhibits from art to automobiles, and highlight the resorts' Olympic history. Children can visit the indoor play area - one of the largest in Norway - with age-appropriate play areas, accommodating all ages from infants to 10 year-olds. Activities include a ball pit, slides and obstacle races, as well as a cafe and internet access. Also of interest is the adventure park, Lilleputthammer, based on the real pedestrian area in miniature, and featuring face-painting, ice-skating, ice-hockey and story-telling. The historic town centre itself is charming, and great to stroll around, thanks to its traditional Scandinavian wooden buildings and small-town atmosphere. Christmas is an especially magical time to visit. Many of the hotels have saunas and offer beauty treatments such as massages.
Après Ski
Après ski fun is bustling and lively, ranging from traditional bars and rustic inns, to rooftop bars and even a British pub. Home to Norway’s' largest nightclub, the nightlife continues after dark with plenty of clubs and discos to try.
Dining
As well as the usual cafes and pizzerias, don't miss a visit to a rustic Norwegian restaurant to sample the regional specialities including reindeer, elk, salmon and trout.
