Ski School
There are ski schools at both Hafjell and Kvitfjell, offering a good choice of tuition with plenty of English-speaking instructors. Private and group lessons in basic techniques are offered, as well as specialist disciplines such as cross-country and telemark.
Childcare
Non-skiing childcare is provided for ages 2-7, and private babysitting is also available. For young skiers, children aged 4-15 have 5 levels of age-specific clubs and programmes to choose from, and 2 children’s' ski areas at Hafjell.
Shopping
Lillehammer has over 250 shops, with the charming pedestrianised shopping street, the Storgata, a great place for buying and browsing, especially skiwear, equipment and outdoor clothing. The Strandtorget Shopping Centre is home to 53 shops with a great choice of Norwegian crafts for souvenirs, including glass, porcelain and knitwear.
Dining
The resort has 40 restaurants, including 2 up on the mountain, and offers a large and diverse range of cuisine. Choose from international food such as Mexican, Chinese or even Turkish, or sample some traditional Norwegian fare.
Après Ski
Lively and cosmopolitan, the après ski scene in Lillehammer features many local breweries and rustic inns, mainly located along the pedestrian street, and a choice of international clubs and discos which stay open late.
Town Services
Lillehammer has 3 banks, 5 cash machines, a post office, library, car rental and petrol stations. A free bus takes skiers to the ski slopes (included in lift pass).
Medical Facilities
There is a doctor in both Hafjell and Kvitfjell, and 5 chemists in Lillehammer, as well as a hospital in town.
