Lillehammer Skiing Holidays
Lillehammer is Norway’s oldest skiing centre and the 1994 Olympics were held there, it is a charming resort and is the centre of several ski areas that skiers can travel out to each day. The main ski area is called Hafjell and it is just north of the town, there is a good range of skiing for all abilities and plenty of activities off the slopes. Lillehammer is great for family ski holidays and the good snow record means a long ski season, starting in November and going through until the end of April, there is also very little queuing.

Hafjell has plenty of options for beginners and intermediate skiers and there is a good ski school, there is a total of 30kms of skiing in this area and the longest run is 4.5kms. From wide tree lined pistes to the challenge of the Olympic downhill run, there is something for every level of skier, including night skiing. Telemark skiing is popular in this area and there are vast areas of cross country skiing trails. There is also a separate snowboard park with big jumps and half pipes.

The main street in Lillehammer is pedestrianised and is lined with shops, lively bars and restaurants; Norway’s largest nightclub is located here. There is plenty to do in Lillehammer and the surrounding area, there is the Olympic bobsleigh, tobogganing, ice skating, dog sledding and ice hockey matches. There is also a leisure centre with swimming pool and a cinema.
