Skiing in Tignes Le Lac - Access to the huge ski area of L'Espace Killy
With a top elevation of 3,656m, skiing in Tignes Le Lac offers high-altitide skiing for all levels, with snow-sure slopes and access to a huge and varied ski area. L'Espace Killy, the area which the resort shares with Val d'Isere, boasts over 300km of piste, and is known for its diverse terrain and exceptional lift-served off-piste. Despite its reputation, the resort serves all levels of skier, with skiing in Tignes Le Lac offering a choice of beginner slopes, and a wide variety of blues and reds for intermediates. Experts have a good selection of terrain whilst skiing in Tignes Le Lac, from the off-piste on the Grande Motte glacier, to the steep moguls at Toviere, and famous challenging runs such as La Sache, which runs all the way from the top of L'Aiguille Percee to Les Brevieres.

The largest and most popular of the five regions in the resort, the village offers a convenient base, with skiing in Tignes Le Lac giving access to the underground funicular and lift link to Val d'Isere. The village enjoys a scenic location on the lake, and, having undergone a recent face-lift, skiing in Tignes Le Lac now offers a lively and more attractive place to stay, serving as the the hub of the resort, its many facilities spread out over two main areas. The modern Tignes Le Lavachet is within walking distance, whilst Val Claret, at 2,300m, like the more authentic villages below, Les Boisses and Les Brevieres, is linked by free bus service. Along with Val Claret, the village offers some varied apres-ski, with skiing in Tignes Le Lac boasting some good restaurants and busy music bars. Those in search of more lively apres-ski should head to neighbouring Val d'Isere.
