La Tania Snow Conditions
Snow Conditions in La Tania - Nestled in the heart of the Three Valleys
Located in the heart of the Savoie region of the French Alps, the village of La Tania was purpose built for the 1992 Olympics and boasts an enviable position in the prestigious Three Valleys ski area, the largest in the world. Nestled in the Courchevel Valley, La Tania enjoys an excellent snow record, with its slopes seeing 5.3m of snowfall each winter. Due to the popularity of the more famous resorts in the Three Valleys ski area, the slopes of La Tania are a good option for families and those looking for a more laid-back relaxed experience, as the ski area is generally quieter than those of its neighbours and sees less queues, but offers the same exceptional conditions.
Snow Conditions in La Tania - Plenty of tree-lined runs, can see deep powder
La Tania sits in a heavily-wooded bowl between Courchevel and Meribel, at an altitude of 1,350m, with access to skiing up to a height of 2,740m. The resort offers a good range of skiing on its local slopes, which cover 150km, with a choice of 102 runs. The slopes are mainly north-east facing, so snow coverage is maintained for longer, and La Tania's location amongst dense pine forests in the valley means there are tree-lined runs that wind back down to the village, and helps to preserve the fantastic powder conditions that the resort can see each season - rated as some of the best in the whole Three Valleys. Linked by gondola to Courchevel, visitors to La Tania can ski over to 1850 or to the Meribel valley, and have the whole of the extensive 600km of the ski area at their disposal. A wide range of ski-in/ski-out accommodation very close to the slopes adds to the popularity of this convenient and well-designed resort.
