La Rosiere Resort Facilities

 

There are three excellent ski schools at La Rosiere in the French Alps. The tuition on offer includes private individual classes or group lessons in a range of disciplines, including alpine skiing, telemark skiing and snowboarding. 

 

The childcare available for family ski holidays at La Rosiere is excellent. Qualified nannies of British and other nationalities are employed by many of the hotels and ski schools to help take the pressure off mums and dads who want to explore the mountains and resort in their own time. The crèches and nurseries take children from as young as four months.

 

You can find all the essentials and a range of ski clothing, ski hire and gear in the small collection of shops provided by La Rosiere. The souvenir shops stock lovely mementos to take home to friends and family. To widen your choice of shopping options, head for the close-by resort of La Thuile (an old Italian mining village set at the top of the Aosta Valley, at an altitude of 1,450m).

 

The dining choice in La Rosiere is not as abundant as in many other European skiing resorts, but you can still find sensibly priced restaurants in the village and on the mountains. The whole family could tuck into simple yet tasty local fayre. If it’s a dinner-for-two you desire, dine by candlelight in one of the romantic La Thuile restaurants.

 

The in-hotel après-ski at La Rosiere is traditional and relaxed, making it perfect for families. There are bars for a few relaxed drinks, and those who still have energy to spare can head for the nightclub at the resort.

 

La Rosiere has a bank, tourist office, lift pass office, cashpoint machine, post office, supermarket, pharmacy and petrol station.

 

There is a doctor and a dentist in town. The nearest hospital is 40km away at Aosta.
