Snow Conditions in La Plagne – Perfect for mixed ability groups
Whatever their ability level, skiers will be able to find their perfect piste during a ski holiday in La Plagne. There are 134 trails, including 10 black and 34 red, covering 225 km of skiable terrain. Beginners and early intermediates skiing in La Plagne will be in seventh heaven. Eighty-six per cent of the pistes are either blue or red, and, while most of the resort is snow-sure and above the tree-line there is also some fantastic on and off-piste skiing between the trees, ideal in whiteouts and high winds. Beginner skiers can start out on the broad nursery slopes right on the doorstep of the lower altitude villages, and soon graduate to a vast theatre of blue runs, which give more experienced skiers the chance to spread their wings and discover the thrill of high mileage skiing. Experts on a ski holiday in La Plagne will find some challenging off-piste and cross country skiing, as well as some incredibly steep verticals on the slopes. Many experts in La Plagne set their sights on the Bellecôte glacier with its superb long black pistes and untracked powder slopes - a rare chance to ski descents of more than 2000 vertical metres.
