Ski School
There are several ski schools in La Plagne, the most highly regarded of which is Oxygene Ski. A team of 40-plus multi-lingual instructors is on hand to offer instruction in skiing, snowboarding, cross country and off-piste. Widely considered to be among the best ski schools in the French Alps, Oxygene offers group and private lessons, and caters for every level of ability. Classes tailored to the needs of disabled skiers in La Plagne are also available. The ski school offers a free shuttle bus to and from the slopes each day, and can negotiate special ski lift rates for its beginner skiers.
 
Children
As a resort, La Plagne is extremely family-friendly, and families on a ski holiday in La Plagne will find their every need catered for. La Plagne has been awarded the Family Plus label by the French Ministry of Tourism, for providing comprehensive services for all ages, from 18 months upwards.
The Oxygene ski school has an outstanding reputation for its children’s classes – the school was named Best Children’s Ski School of the Year by the Which Ski Guide in both 2004 and 2005. Children on a ski holiday in La Plagne are welcome at the school from the age of three, when they can enjoy the safe environment and ‘magic carpet’ of the Kiddie’s Garden. There are classes for every age and ability, right up to the ‘Steep ‘n’ Fast’ classes, in which experienced teen skiers can learn and perfect boarder cross, practice on bumps and in the snowpark and learn the basics of freestyle. There are countless nurseries, crèches and childcare centres in La Plagne. Highly recommended is Belle Plagne nursery, which accepts children from 10 months to six years and offers activities such as singing, snow play, games and toys, videos and drawing. In Montchavin and Les Coches, Clubs Enfants GSE - Le Chat Bleu accepts children ages 3-9 and offers a range of indoor and outdoor activities including videos, sledging and treasure hunts. Many restaurants are child-friendly, and tourist information centres can provide lists of registered approved babysitters. There are floodlit toboggan and snow play areas for children at Plagne Centre, Plagne Bellecôte, Plagne Montalbert and Champagny and ice rinks at Montchavin Les Coches and the altitude resorts. 
 
Dining
With 21 restaurants on the slopes themselves, and almost 100 in total to be found in La Plagne centre and the outlying villages, hungry skiers in La Plagne have plenty of choice when it comes to dining. Chic tapas bars, rustic Alpine tavernas, five-star hotel dining…all can be found in abundance during a ski holiday in La Plagne. Child-friendly (and budget-friendly) options include the resort’s many creperies and a selection of pizza and pasta restaurants. Many of the slope-side restaurants offer buffet-style dining, while more formal options can be found in the villages themselves.
 
Apres-ski 
Apres-ski in La Plagne is lively to say the least. The resort boasts more than 50 bars, and some 10 nightclubs. Whether you’re looking for a few quiet drinks after dinner, a quick post-ski schnapps right on the slopes, live music, or just the opportunity to dance the night away, you’ll find it during a ski holiday in La Plagne. Karaoke is on offer in several of the nightspots, and clubs catering for the younger crowd feature DJs playing well into the early hours of the morning. The bars tend to fill up soon after the lifts close, with the action moving on to the resort’s nightclubs as the night wears on.
 
Town facilities
Skiers in La Plagne will find all necessary facilities in the resort’s 10 small villages. There are banks and launderettes in Plagne Centre, Plagne Bellecote, and Belle Plagne. Internet cafes can be found in each of the 10 inter-linked villages that make up the La Plagne ski resort, and in Plagne Centre there is also a doctor's surgery, chemist, physiotherapist and post office.
  
The slopes
Linked with neighbouring Les Arcs by the Vanoise Express cable car, La Plagne forms the enormous Paradiski ski area.   Skiers in La Plagne can take advantage of 425km of pistes, suitable for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. With its high altitude slopes and excellent snow record, Paradiski is an enduringly popular resort for mixed ability groups. For experts the most challenging areas of La Plagne are the Roche de Mio and the Glacier de Bellecote. Virtually the whole of the La Plagne area is an intermediates paradise. For beginners the gentle slopes above Les Coches are ideal.
 
Shopping
Shoppers in La Plagne can take advantage of more than 200 shops spread across the 10 villages that make up the resort. From the large shopping malls of Plagne Bellecote and Belle Plagne to independently-owned butchers, bakers and handicrafts stores, there is every opportunity to indulge in a spot of retail therapy during a ski holiday in La Plagne.
