The outdoor swimming pool has spectacular views, and the fitness centre is home to a hot tub, sauna, steam room and solarium. Many of the hotels have saunas, beauty salons and spas available for visitors. There is a cinema in town, and local churches and mountain villages to visit. The weekly market is lively and vibrant and a great place to try the local specialities, such as reblochon and chevrotin cheeses. Day trips from La Clusaz include Geneva and Chamonix, and the medieval town of Annecy, with its beautiful lake. The 16th century compact town centre is charming, retaining its village atmosphere, with winding streets and a main square complete with local church. The surrounding area is picturesque, and the little villages and hamlets display local customs and traditions. La Clusaz is known for hosting many international winter sports events, such as the Telemark World Championships and the Freestyle World Championships.

The evenings are generally family-friendly, focusing on drinks and cosy dinners. During weekends the town get busier, with the bars and clubs being full and staying open late. Moonlit skiing is available every month, when the town hosts a Full Moon party complete with DJ’s, and the slopeside bars stay open until 3am.

The many restaurants serve mainly hearty Savoyard fare, using local produce and featuring fondues, raclette, tartiflette and the local charcuterie. The mountain restaurants with their sunny terraces are a great place to linger over a leisurely lunch, and give non-skiers the chance to experience the stunning views from the top of the lifts.
