Snow Conditions In Kopaonik - Tallest mountain in Serbia, reliable snowfall
Kopaonik lies in southwest Serbia, and offers high-altitude skiing on the country’s' tallest mountain, in a sub-alpine climate. The resort sits at an altitude of 1,770m and skiing takes place at just over 2,000m. As well as a large amount of reliable snow, Kopaonik also sees 200 days of sunshine, creating ideal conditions for skiing and snowboarding.

Set in a stunning national park, and with ideal conditions for winter sports, Kopaonik is a good choice for beginners and family ski holidays, as well as those looking for a budget destination. Guaranteed snow means first-timers are assured of a great experience, and the resort has 4 nursery slopes with their own lifts, as well as over two-thirds of the terrain which is rated easy. In total, there are 57km of ski slopes, including 3 FIS standard runs, and the mountain has a maximum vertical of 521m.
Snow Conditions In Kopaonik - Known as 'The Mountain of the Sun' The resort sees a long stable ski season, running from November to April, and snow can start to fall as early as October, with Kopaonik generally seeing an average of 159 days of snow every year. Due to the mountains' flat top and southerly position in wide open terrain, the region does not see a heavy cloud cover, meaning that cold air moves over the mountain and through the nearby valleys, making for warmer temperatures in the resort. This also means that Kopaonik sees more sunshine than other areas - hence Kopoaonik being known as the 'mountain of the sun'. January sees the lowest temperatures, with an average of -5C. |
