Ski Schools
Skiing in Kitzbuhel offers a choice of 6 ski schools in the resort and 15 in the whole region. There is a good choice of tuition for both general skiing and more specialist skills, such as racing techniques and powder clinics, with The Red Devils being the main school, and the largest, with 350 qualified instructors.
Children
Children as young as 3 can take lessons in Kitzbuhel, with the Children’s' Ski School offering 2 kinderland areas, a shuttle train to the lifts, an entertainment programme and weekly races and awards. The Tourist Office can provide information about private childcare and licensed babysitters for young children and babies.
Eating out
The standard of dining is high in Kitzbuhel, with 41 mountain restaurants and huts offering good simple food to gourmet cuisine. In town and throughout the area, a further 100 restaurants can be found offering everything from pizza, Mexican and Asian food to a vast selection of traditional Tyrolean specialities.
Après-ski
Après-ski in Kitzbuhel is famously lively, but with a varied scene, offering around 25 drinking holes. Skiers can choose from the usual packed bars and boisterous pubs but also some quieter tea-rooms, trendy cocktail bars, Irish pubs and internet cafes. There are 3 late-night clubs in town, and a casino for a change of scene.
Services
There is a Tourist Office (open daily), a post office and various banks with at least 10 cash point machines. The town has 4 supermarkets and a gourmet food store, along with a great choice of shops selling everything from ski wear and sports equipment, to designer goods and local souvenirs.
Medical facilities
Kitzbuhel is home to a range of different doctors and specialists, as well as dentists, and there is a hospital in town for medical emergencies. There are 2 pharmacies, which are closed on Sundays.
