Ski Schools 

The Hemsedal Ski School offers a wide range of lessons, with English widely spoken, as well as a multitude of other European languages. Choose from group lessons or private instruction in all disciplines.

 

Families 

The Trollia nursery has an excellent reputation and takes babies and children from 3 months - 10 years. Group skiing lessons are available for ages 4 and up, and there is a family skiing area and playground. The resort offers certain weeks with discounted rates for families, and there are lots of free children’s' activities and events.

 

Shopping 

Shops sell a variety of goods, including skiwear and outdoor equipment, clothing, homewares, furniture and gifts. There are a couple of bakeries and delis, and places to buy local crafts and souvenirs.

 

Après Ski 

A handful of bars offer a relaxed après ski scene during the week. Weekends tend to be much livelier, when the bars get busy and the 4 nightclubs in the resort see plenty of visitors.

 

Dining 

Hemsedal has 13 restaurants, including 5 up on the mountain, which serve a range of food from pizza to Scandinavian specialities.

 

Town Services 

The town has a bank, a post office, petrol stations, hairdressers, a launderette and 5 supermarkets.
