Heavnly Snow Conditions - Highest skiing and largest vertical in state
Located in the south-eastern corner of Lake Tahoe and on the borders of both California and Nevada, Heavenly is a world-class resort with impressive statistics. Conditions are famous in the aptly-named Heavenly, with an average snowfall of 914cm each winter and over 300 days of sunshine every year.

Snow Conditions In Heavenly - Long ski season, plenty of Californian sunshine
The ski season in Heavenly starts extremely early in comparison to other resorts, beginning in late October or early November and finishing in April. Thanks to the reliable snowfall, upper slope averages have reached over 400cm in recent years, even topping 350cm on the lower slopes, with the Californian sunshine adding to the fantastic conditions. Average daytime winter temperatures hover around 5C, dropping to -1C at night, with the ever-present Californian sunshine adding to the pleasant conditions. The resort boasts over 4,800 acres of skiable terrain, with a top elevation of over 3,000m, and offers a wide range of slopes for all levels of skier. Pistes are generally best suited to intermediates, but the vast terrain is also good for beginners and advanced skiers, being home to a selection of wide open cruisers, tight gladed runs and moguls, and plenty of off-piste for adventurous skiers in search of untracked powder.

Heavenly Snow Conditions - Largest snowmaking in North America
Heavenly boasts the largest snowmaking system in North America, with 220 snow cannons covering 70% of the slopes. The high-tech computerised system can produce an additional 300cm of snow each winter, creating a strong deep snowbase for the start of the already-early season, and maintaining the conditions throughout the following months. A fleet of 16 machines groom the slopes twice daily, resulting in not just optimum conditions first thing in the morning, but throughout the afternoon too.
