Snow Conditions in Gstaad – Ideal skiing conditions from December to March
Although Gstaad is not really a skiing resort budget skiers should consider, those willing to splash out on luxury ski holidays to remember should head for the resort the super-rich populate each season (often opting for understated Gstaad over the more flamboyant feel of St Moritz). The ideal snow conditions there from December to March are as much a draw as the fantastic shopping and sophisticated apres-ski. And, what’s more, even as the temperature drops to as low as -4C at times, you can still look forward to hours of sunshine throughout the day.
Gstaad Snow Conditions – Snow cannons ensure snow coverage is guaranteed

Do remember to pack an extra layer for the evenings, though, as the temperature can fall even lower than -4C after dark. At Gstaad, a small number of the pistes are covered by snowmaking. The resort has invested sensibly in snow cannons to ensure that day-after-day of uninterrupted skiing during the season is guaranteed.
