The ideal snow conditions there from December to March are as much a draw as the fantastic shopping and sophisticated apres-ski. And, what’s more, even as the temperature drops to as low as -4C at times, you can still look forward to hours of sunshine throughout the day.

Average temperatures at Gstaad during the season generally level out at about 2C, making skiing, snowboarding and ice-skating a delight. Do remember to pack an extra layer for the evenings, though, as the temperature can fall even lower than -4C after dark. At Gstaad, a small number of the pistes are covered by snowmaking.
