There are eight ski schools at Gstaad in Switzerland, with plans to open more in the near future to meet the demand of an ever-increasing tourist population each year. Skiers of all abilities head for the exclusive resort to hone their skills under the guidance of world-class (and mostly English-speaking) instructors. Group or private tuition is available in a range of skiing disciplines.

 

The luxury hotels at Gstaad offer the very best in childcare, and you can leave your children in the capable hands of trained, qualified and experienced professionals at the creches and play centres there. Private nannies and babysitters are also available to hire at the resort. 

 

At Gstaad, expensive sports goods, leisure wear, designer wear, jewellery and more are all available to buy. And if window shopping or browsing is all you’re interested in, a stroll along Gstaad’s magical (and car-free) promenade is not to be missed.

 

There are countless places to eat out at Gstaad, but not surprisingly, many of these are extremely expensive and only offer the very best in fine dining. That said, you can still find places to go for a sensibly priced traditional dinner. And there are bistros and pizzerias at the resort for when you want to grab a quick lunchtime bite.

 

The apres-ski at Gstaad has something for everyone. After another day on the slopes all the family could enjoy the in-hotel entertainment on offer. A romantic evening-for-two at any one of Gstaad’s refined piano bars could be just the thing for couples. And for those seeking something wilder, the atmosphere at the busy bars can be electric.

 

At Gstaad you can find banks (with currency exchange), cashpoint machines, a tourist information centre, post office and pharmacy, as well as internet cafes, supermarkets, tobacconists, hairdressing salons, beauty salons and petrol stations.
