Grindelwald in Switzerland has a number of ski and snowboarding schools where a range of disciplines can be learnt from professional instructors. Many of the instructors are English speaking, and all are qualified and experienced.

 

At the Grindelwald Ski School you can leave your children with professional child-minders for the whole day. The Snowli Kids Club on Bodmi there is always a hit with the little ones (3+ years). Most hotels have creche facilities, and private nannies and babysitters are also available for hire at the resort.

 

At Grindelwald’s 60+ stores you can buy sports goods, leisurewear, designer goods, and more. The charming little souvenir shops make for real Alpine picture postcard stuff. There you can buy small mementoes to remember your Grindelwald holiday by, and also arts and crafts to take home as presents for others.

 

Grindelwald can offer dining options to suit all palates and budgets. There is a wide range of restaurants with something for everyone to enjoy. After another day’s skiing, the whole family could tuck into hearty traditional fayre or even international cuisine (incl. Italian, Chinese and Japanese food). For something light and quick, the bistros are your best bet.

 

The apres-ski at Grindelwald can be as low-key or as lively as you wish. Many hotels offer evening entertainment. Relax with a few beers at any one of the many bars and pubs. The Challi Bar, Gepsi Bar and Plaza Club are always busy. And at the Hotel Sunstar, the disco there has long been a magnet for tourists and locals.

 

At Grindelwald you can find a number of banks (with currency exchange), cashpoint machines, grocery stores, a post office, pharmacy and petrol station. Hair and beauty salons can be found at some Grindelwald hotels.

 

Most Grindelwald hotels have basic medical facilities, with some having doctors on-call. There are independent doctors and a dentist in town.
